Coast To Coast

This is a wee bloggie to record our Scottish coast to coast at the end of May 2013. Starting in Montrose we rode east to west to Plockton in 6 days, taking in vast tracts of grand scenery and some of the land's top trails. 

There were just the four of us - Alex, Fi, Paul and me. Paul was in charge, having experienced Ben's hardcore route in 2007, he reassured us he'd worked out how to avoid the horrific bits and keep the excellent bits.

Eric, Alex's old man, had set off from the Kyle of Localsh the previous week. He'd had an epic 10 day journey, battling bogs, wind, rain and snow. His overnight stays were in his bivvy bag, some bothies and the odd hostel so he'd also lugged his sleeping and cooking kit across the country. With characteristically excellent timing he arrived at our campsite in Montrose on Friday night at almost the same time as us.
